Late Mr. Ahamed Koya T K. an Ex-Railway employee took the initiative in 1971 to take up major Erection of various types of Cranes, Towers, Dam gates and Railway Girders at enormous heights and established a company with the support of his family, which gave birth to KOYA BROTHERS.
KOYA BROTHERS later on took up many prestigious projects for Indian Railway, Saipen Aban Drilling Co. Chennai, Jessop & Co Ltd. Culcutta, Post & Telegraph, Various Port Trusts, Braithwaite Burn & Jessop, Richardson & Cruddas, Bhilai Steel Plant, Integral Coach Factory, RMEC Projects ltd. Pune, Aban Construction in Reliance Petroleum Ltd, Gas Authority of India, Enexco Technologies (I) Ltd. New Delhi, BEC(P) Ltd. Chennai, Etc..
KOYA BROTHERS began basically with mechanical erection, structural fabrication & erection and later on diversified into civil works, man power supply for offshore projects and marine oriented jobs, electrical works, pipeline projects both (Cross country and Plant Piping), Interior designing, Equipment rental, transport etc.
To the credits of the KOYA BROTHERS in the early 80’s Mr. Ahamed Koya designed a special track mounted crane and approved by Jessop & Co. Ltd, Calcutta for the erection of Railway Girders at enormous heights i.e.. Above 100 feet height where other means of traditional way of erection was not possible and non accessible for Mobile Cranes. And the same feet was first in the history of Indian Railways.
